That's fascinating seeing the reactive explosive armor plating on those tanks.

Hey, as long as we got Shining in here, what's the C.T. Daily say about this action?

The UN is not currently enforcing one side or the other. Georgia is asking for UN help but we have not actually sent it.
All the UN has done is told both sides to go to their rooms for a timeout.

I'll point you to England and France, that's long term. We're just in a 100 year long lull in-between hostilities
Not even that long. The cold war started after WW2 (when we were allies mind you) and lasted the better half of the century.
While currently we're not exactly friends we're not really enemies either and many things have changed in the last 20 years or so.
Doesn't help that our genius of a president wanted to put up missile defense batteries in the EU pointed at russia though.
In terms of the US and Russia I kinda see each other as a couple of jocks trying to outdo the other in every little aspect so they can /flex.

Its not a bad idea if you want war.
Which is how the Russians saw it too which I have to agree with their feelings on the matter. I haven't checked on the matter in a while but I believe the program was shot down.

Most likely, war will continue to exist as long as our minds and genes are still benefit from competition. To think anything else is naive.
So what your saying is .....
[Ron Perlman] War. War never changes. [/Ron Perlman]

Uh, I was quoting Tarminic. No need to be so defensive.

i appreciate you seeing the error of your previous statements but instead of justifying them just silently accept them and move on to learn from them.
"I just think that as long as humans compete with each other over resources, there will be violent conflict (as long as said conflict could reasonably lead to victory)."
only that's not what you said...
"Most likely, war will continue to exist as long as our minds and genes are still benefit from competition. To think anything else is naive."
i.e. it's our nature to kill. Competition comes in many forms.

psychobabble
Since the dawn of time when cavemen protected their assets like good caves and their claimed females to the present we have always been warlike in nature which is no different than other species on this planet, we just adapted better ways to kill each other.
It's like when you look off at the mountain or some other scenic venture. You may think that your looking at the pretty colors but in reality you looking for movement because that is a genetic adaptation thats been passed through generations, like a turtle growing a shell or a frog having poisonious glands.
